Than you can draw? Perhaps, anyone can list a few dozen options, from very obvious to very exotic. But few will offer to paint... light on the matrix of the camera. Meanwhile, today is a very popular form of art, located at the intersection of painting and photography, and dubbed freezelight.

Is freezlight: the camera is set long (five seconds), the shutter speed, and then in the dark any point source of light (or several) in front of the lens picture is drawn. As a result, the picture turns out a striped pattern of light. With the right approach it can be extremely effective, as evidenced by numerous works in this style.

The freezelight itself is not very complicated, but still has some features, which we describe below.

1. Draw with different colors

For a reezelight, strictly speaking, to use any stable light source (candle not fit very well), but the best work are obtained by using different colors, and the more unusual they are, the better. Keep in mind that with undertones may have problems - they are hard to distinguish from each other, so it's best to choose vibrant colors. Color lasers are not recommended - they can damage the camera.

2. Use a tripod

That figure turned out to be exactly what you would like, the camera must be stationary, because you're shooting at a slow shutter speed, so, otherwise it will blur, and the image will be completely ruined. Accordingly, a tripod or at least a bookshelf, table or any other object capable camera immobility during the whole shooting.

3. Ensure complete darkness

This may seem trivial, but any extraneous light sources will affect the final figure to the extent that it would simply ruin it. So on the street are better off away from the lights, and the house - in a closed room with curtained Windows, or no Windows at all. Similarly with clothes - it should be dark, because light clothes and even more clothes with reflective elements in the frame will be visible to you.

4. Practice

In the freezelight an extremely important practice, because the first time is very unlikely, even for the common smiley face, not that complex pattern. Plus the most novice freezelighters for the first time has the necessary level of spatial imagination, and therefore need to train him. Therefore, not only must every picture to start with two or three test trials, but simply to train as often as possible.

5. Plan your pattern in advance

This is especially true if it is assumed a complex pattern, including the case when participants have more than one. It is necessary to calculate the movement of each and make the label (just make sure that they could be seen in the dark, but not visible in the picture). Work out a rough first movement in the light, making it easier to monitor an imaginary axis of symmetry (in the dark, it will become one of your main targets).

6. The reflection adds to the brilliance

Suggest that you start drawing from the ground or any other surface, so that the picture turned out to be reflection. This is, firstly, visually will give your figure the volume and make it more effective, and second, will confirm its authenticity (since you can't reproduce this).
